    Default Water Mark from vomit

So, instead of having a nice relaxing start to our Sunday morning, we woke up to dog vomit on our leather sectional. It extended in between two of the seat cushions. We cleaned it up, but it had left a water mark on a portion of the leather near the stitching. Any thoughts or advice on trying to get rid of the water mark? It's aniline leather from Carolina Custom Leather.

    Thanks for any advice.

Blot it up with a damp rag and then leave it be, don't fuss on it. It will dry out and may leave a ring. DO NOT SCRUB IT with water. Once dry, come back in a week or so with the Leather Solutions product and clean - condition the entire sectional (do not apply the Protectant). Then leave be for another day or two. Come back and apply more conditioner only to the stain area if needed, the collagens and softeners in the conditioner will help the stain to dissipate, but don't saturate the area. Then when dry, apply the protectant to the entire piece which will barrier the leather from staining out should that happen again. Renew every 4 to 6 months, the full three step treatment. My experience is that 95% of all stains like that will work themselves out of pure anilines if left alone and not messed with too much. The mistake people make is to scrub the area with water in an attempt to clean it, and the creates far more problems than leaving it alone.

Thanks Duane. I will follow your suggestions. Thankfully, we purchased the Leather Solutions kit a few months back so we're all set there. Thanks again for the quick response.
