    Default B-Y # 4114 Recliner in Married Cover 9873-69

Long the # 1 selling recliner in the Bradington Young line (for many decades) this is probably the best value recliner that I know of. In fact, have one of these in my own home. B-Y runs this on promotion year-round in three 'married' cover leathers, burgundy, brown and navy. Shown is the Burgundy. This is all top grain leather on all surfaces, USA-made with a USA (Ultra-Mech) mechanism and depending on the dealer will sell for $ 1,100 to $ 1,200 or so. Solid, comfortable, dependable and long-lasting. It may cost a few hundred more than the Chinese junk that is all over the marketplace, but this will perform far better and still be in your home when the import is in the landfill.

    Hi Duane,
I get confused on B&Y leathers. I don't see leather 9873 among the options in the B&Y site nor do I see it in the B&Y Leather Manifest By Grade. I find the same situation with some of the other photos of B&Y furniture which you have kindly posted for us, like the great looking Yorba sofa and recliner in 9574-83. Have leathers 9873 and 9574 been discontinued by B&Y? Are there B&Y leathers available which are not on their website as options or on their manifest? If so, I don't want to my research at some locale dealer when I plan on ordering from you. I have read that you don't like members to do this and I understand(so far, all I have done is sat in some floor models at local dealers. I don't think that is wrong.). Thanks

It can be confusing, let me see if I can explain some of the coding that B-Y uses, and lets use 9873-69 as an example.

    9873-69 : means leather
    9873-69 : an "8" means its a married cover
    9873-69 : means it's a red/burgundy. 8's are browns, 9's are blacks, etc.
9873-69 : means the intensity of the color, or light/dark in the series. a 1 would be the lightest, 9 the darkest

The reason you don't see any married covers on the web site or at many dealers, is they are not designed to sell to the customer per se. Only the sales reps carry the samples and the intent is for them to go into a store and sell 10 to 20 units as a promotional special off the floor, not to be ordered individually by the consumer. So for that reason, they are not included in sample sets at the dealerships. I happen to have a set of married cover samples in my store, but I am the exception. Mainly because I gave my sales rep a very hard time until he ordered me a set! So the only way you are going to see them is to look for photo entries like in this thread or come across one in a store on the sales floor as a display model.

9574-83 was a mainstream leather that has been dropped. It's not a current hide.

I am considering buying the B-Y 4114 Recliner in either brown or burgundy.
Is this piece in one of the 3 married leathers still as good today (5-26-2020) as noted in your post above from 2015?
What do you think of the power option for this piece?

Prices from five years ago certainly have changed! Please fill out the QUOTES and ORDERS request here on the forum for current pricing and ship costs to your location.

Power recline in the 4114 is not really necessary in my opinion, the manual mechanism for this piece is very smooth and well-balanced. On the 4114, very few order power recline.
