Looks like those of us in the Washington DC area will get hit with a massive snowstorm starting Friday evening and continuing all through Saturday. If so, its doubtful I will have my store open this coming Saturday. Even though I have a 4WD vehicle, there's little point in trudging in if there is a foot of snow on the roads. I will of course, be at home doing email and forum postings if that comes to pass, and have a set of price books at home so quotes are possible, etc.
Time to tune up the big Honda snowblower!

We are definitely going to get smacked with a paralyzing snowstorm starting Friday late afternoon and going until the wee hours Sunday. Because of winds of 40 to 60 mph predicted and 24" + of snow, I am not going to open the store on Saturday. I will transfer the phones to my home when I leave Friday evening and should you call I will answer on Saturday if not outside with the snowblower. I have most (but not all) of my price books at home if quotes are needed, and will be checking the forum and doing email over the weekend. I will not have the ability to process a sale from home, however. Should be back in the store on Tuesday the 26th....

My back deck at 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning, you can see how much snow the grill has on it and that it is above the seats on the chairs at the table. We are only halfway through the event right now, so this could double - says the weatherman. But we have not lost the power (yet) so its all good. The Store will not be open today (obviously) but as long as we have power I will be checking emails and the forum for any questions and quotes.

That is a lot of snow pretty quickly. Stay safe and warm Duane!
It's still coming down heavily. We are past 22" right now. Getting ready to fire up the snowblower again and go back out

It's a good think you decided to stay home today. I doubt that you missed any customers with the weather how it was during normal store hours.
Two passes on the snowblower since it started. Another one in the morning and then that should take care of it. That big Honda blower can take a bite of snow 14" tall without stalling - full width. It's a heck of a machine!

Sun is shining and I even made a run out to the highway in my Ford Escape AWD with proper snow tires all around. The main roads are terrible, packed snow and ice on them and no one is really out. There is NO WAY vehicles with all-seasons should be out until they get some salt on the roads. There are zero chemicals on the main highways. Grocery store is open, I made a run down there and back - no customers though. Too much snow and no where to put it. Will be a disaster if everyone tries to go to work tomorrow. At my house, all done! Honda snowblowers rock.

We received 36 inches in the Ashburn Va. area. The key for cleanup was to use my snowblower yesterday while the snow was still reasonably fluffy. Today I went out to clean up the last 10 inches and drifts and then went to work on the neighbors driveways. With the additional packing of the snow due to time, wind and sun the job was much harder today.
