Default Just received a quote on a Smith Brothers sectional

Hey everybody, I've been researching here quite a bit about a soon-to-be motion sectional purchase. I have a local store that sells Smith Brothers and had them quote a 415 style with two end recliners, one armless recliner, a wedge, one stationary armless, and a console. This was in their Grade 4 leather which isn't their top grade. The quote was around $13,000. From what I've seen, it seems like I could get a Bradington Young or H&M for less? Seems like this quote is a bit high but they insisted that it was their best price. What say ye? What BY or H&M sectionals should I be looking at that are similar and have recliners?

    Thanks in advance!

None of my makers are going to have anything like that 415 style unit., can't really do a fair evaluation on it. Sorry!

No need to be sorry! I'm not necessarily sold on that specific design, they just happened to have one in the showroom. I'm fine with rolled arm, nail heads, etc etc. Pretty much open in that respect as long as it isn't way out there. I'd LIKE a console, but not an absolute deal breaker. If you have any motion sectional suggestions from BY or H&M, I'm all ears! Only about 3 hours from you actually.

Let's say we wanted to use this model B-Y as a base unit to build with, though I am not 100% sure on your configuration I will give it a try and we will use a GR 3 mid-grade hide.

    http://www.bradington-young.com/Brad...formation.aspx

    # 925-17 LAF Outside Chair Full Recline $ 1,666
    # 925-18 RAF Outside Chair Full Recline $ 1,666
    # 925-38 Armless Chair (stationary) $ 1,059 x 2 = $ 2,118
    # 925-68 Wedge $ 1,768
    # 925-06 Straight Console with storage $ 956

    Total $ 4,842 plus delivery fees of probably $ 400 +/- as a ballpark.

A far cry from $ 14K and equal in quality to Smith Bros in my opinion. Also, its very unusual to see recliners connecting to other recliners in a sectional. most the time its not done (see this B-Y note on sectional configuration) as you have to have solid end pieces to attach mechanisms.

Duane, It looks like you left out the first 2 items in your calculations. I got $8,174, still a far cry from $14k.

Ya $8100 sounds considerably more reasonable. That Bradington Young seems like a nice piece. How much more would it take to get into a mid-grade leather H&M? (nix the console if need be, just 3 seats on the RAF side and 2 on the LAF side) Thanks for taking the time to help out!
