    Question Viking leather

The Viking leather appears to be a simple, clean class 2, but i don't see much about it. Is there an H&M description or ratings available? Or has anyone purchased furniture with this leather? Thanks!

Viking is very much that - a simple, clean, class 2 finished leather from South America. It's unremarkable and unobjectionable and will perform like any other finished leather, and there are many like it. It was added to the line up recently, so there is not much distribution on it.

Thanks, Duane! Are the class 2's typically coming from South American tanneries?

The bulk of finished leathers from all makers come out of Chinese tanneries. Most painted leathers don't have a of variance because...well...they're painted! As long as they are not too stiff and have decent hand then you won't see a lot of difference from one to another.

So, if nothing else, it's well traveled.

Does the Viking leather have a different name on the H&M website? I cant seem to find it on there.

    Duane,
Are the Viking leathers included on your samples at the store?

Viking is a married-cover only leather - that's why you won't see it listed on the H&M Website (or Alberta for that matter). They are only used for promotional frames and H&M does not keep loose hides on either one of those. Yes, I have samples in the store however they are not on my rack and kept at the sales counter.

    Duane,
    Ahh! That makes sense.
    Thanks for the quick response.
