Old Hancock and Moore piece - ordering seat cores for it
Twenty-three years ago this customer purchased an Austin Loveseat Incliner from me and they are now just needing seat cores (free of charge to the original owner), so they gave me a copy their original receipt and I had to share it, just because the prices are amazing to me now. I ordered their new seat cores today and they will be at no charge to them.
And we only charged $ 20 to haul that heavy beast into their house back then!
H&M still makes that same model today. A set of new cores and its good for another twenty years.
Now what I always like to ask - what car were you driving in 1994? How many have you had since then? And how much did you spend on cars that didn't last nearly as long?!
Reason I ask is I often hear "I don't want to spend that much on a Hancock and Moore", and yet I don't think anyone would dispute the piece owes them nothing at this point. In the long run, for years of use, H&M is probably the least expensive leather upholstery furniture you will ever buy. It's built right and it lasts.
Straight answers from thirty years in the business.
