    Default Your Space Furniture

    Hello Duane,

It was recommended that I contact you on Houzz. I noticed that this was your last post so thought I would ask you here. I have been searching for an English arm tight back sofa like the Barclay with Restoration Hardware but a good quality built one at a reasonable price.
I have been searching and found again from Houzz, Your Space Furniture. They are manufacured in California and are meant to be good quality and built to your spec

The person on Houzz suggested I contact you and ask your opinion of them and or if you have a suggestion. The look is very important to me as well as the construction. Looking at a linen look type fabric.

Do you have any advice on Your Space Furniture sofas?

Thank you in advance for any help or advice.

Sorry, I am not familiar with that brand. There are a lot of regional companies that do not go national, many of the West Coast made items don't make it to East Coast distributorship. I did find their website and they offer a cutaway, which leaves me pretty much unimpressed. Based on what I see here, I'd not buy it no matter how good the price point. In particular, I don't care for the webbing back suspension an the odd no-sag spring on the seat they use. The plywood frame as they have it designed appears to be made for speed in assembly. This looks similar to the pieces that come out of China.

However you can only tell so much from photos.

This is what you want to see in a cutaway.

Dianne is there a two seater tight back English arm like the below in a linen look fabric that is good quality available? Would like two around 90 inches long.

English Arm units are pretty easy to find with a cushion back. Taylor King Design Your Own comes to mind, they do an 88" or 92"

    or the Century Cornerstone

    These are well-made pieces.

The tight back is more difficult to source. Here's one by Century:

Here's a Taylor King with tight back, but 3 cushions.

I have a Taylor King sofa and recommend. Beautiful and super comfortable! Best sofa I've ever owned!

Cannot see how to reply other than "reply with quote"

Thank you both. I was just about to buy the Century "essential" sofa you listed Duane but thought I would search a little longer because the style is just not as nice.

Kellip thank you also, I really would like to have a two seater. But if it is quite long it could be a consideration. I have seen I think a three seater with a Taylor King that was quite short. Would love to find one that is 89 to 92 inches long.

Duane, that tight back Century sofa is a very good price. Do you think it is the same or as good quality compared to their higher end lines?

The 3 seater Taylor King I linked to, Raleigh Sofa, says it is 89".

Not being on my phone I can now see how to reply.

Thank you. That is the size I would like. I just wish it was a two seater. I really do like the look of these two seaters.

The RH sofa I know a made in China. The Anthropology one is made in NC and from what they told me sounds good quality I believe but I wouldn't get it before July.

What you buy is obviously a personal choice, but I would put the quality of the product before whether or not it had 2 or 3 seat cushions. Might want to take a look at this post about furniture from stores that focus on marketing (Restoration Hardware, etc.) rather than the quality of their products. (I have no idea who makes furniture for Anthropologie.) For me, I would take the quality and comfort of my sofa any day over its exact look. But that's just me. Also, keep in my mind, no one wants to sit where the cushions split. So you're taking a nice long sofa, and making it useful for only 2 people. Does that make sense?

    Good luck!
