Thumbs up Breast Cancer Walk - Helping out while getting your new furniture!

My good friend Kathy Lyle is again walking SIXTY MILES over three days for the Susan G. Korman Cancer Foundation. She is in 3rd place right now for most donations (two years ago she was the top fund raiser) and running out of time to collect - the walk starts on Friday:

I don't like my friends to finish anywhere but first, so for the next 48 hours any order you place through my store (The Keeping Room) for a leather piece, chairs, table, etc...I will donate 5 % of the order price to Kathy's effort in your name. This is going to be good from now until the close of business on Thursday, July 30th.

If you don't need anything, feel free to donate anyways using the link above! Ya'll know how much I hate cancer.....

I just got off the phone from Jack Glasheen from Hancock and Moore, and he will match my 5% for the next two days on all non-Town & Country orders as a donation to the Susan Korman Cancer Walk in sponsoring Kathy Lyle. THANK YOU JACK!!

That means if you order today or tomorrow you order WILL make a difference. For example, on a # 4694 Donovan Sofa in Class 3 leather ($ 3,425) the amount going to the Korman Foundation from The Keeping Room and Hancock and Moore will be $ 300. That's serious money!

Help fight breast cancer and get your new H&M piece at the same time. We CAN eliminate cancer in our lifetime - its going to take money to do it.

I'm a Stage IV Cancer Survivor myself. I believe in the cause.

    Default We love matching funds!

Good on you Duane and a shout to H&M. GO Kathy! She is not alone. There are many more working towards the same goal(s). Below is the site for one amazing lady, another for my wife (also an amazing lady), and a third for my wife's team.

Tomorrow we will be ordering 3 pieces. Two outside the T&C program and one in it. They are:

Springfield Lounger (7065) in Milan Saddle
Springfield Sofa (4445) in Milan Saddle
Restoration Ottoman (4273 T&C) in Fenway Crimson from Duane at 'The Keeping Room'

We will talk tomorrow Duane and sort out the wood and cushion details. Thanks for all your help and consideration. Night.

    Regards,
    John

Well, I believe that some things are just meant to be. Now after a very long and arduous process years in the making you, John will finally have your dream chair. Timing couldn't be better because we are sponsoring another walker in The Breast Cancer 3 Day as we make our purchase....Thanks to Duane and Hancock and Moore for stepping up to the plate to help us all walk the walk and make a difference.

P.S. I am so happy I get a new sofa in the process!

John and Roxanne, thanks for your order and supporting this! I just put another $ 500 in Kathy's account with your name on it. She just $ 1,500 shy of overtaking the top fundraiser in her area walk which begins tomorrow. You will see your name in the $ 500 category on her scrolling donation list.

If I can get a few more orders in today, we can put her in first place.

Great project! And a special thanks to Jack Glasheen at Hancock and Moore for agreeing over the phone on short notice to match my donations. Most companies would tell me how hard the times are right now, but Jack didn't hesitate one bit and said "Lets Do it", just one more reason they're my favorite leather house.

Another order came in from one of our list members and another $ 500 to the Walk Fund. Kathy is not $ 77 shy of being the top fundraiser for this event with just three hours left to contribute. Anyone that can help push her into first, I know she'd love it!

Duane, Anna and I just made a donation that should put Kathy into 1st. place. As you know Anna is a three year survivor. Also, we want the friends of our friend to finish first. Thanks for playing it forward for Kathy and the many others you have helped with your volunteer efforts. Your surgeon at Hopkins did well in saving your life.

She was the Top Fundraiser by a few hundred dollars when the clock hit midnight, very happy to have obtained that goal. She also says she has some world-class blisters on her feet! Thanks to all who pitched in and helped! Between The Keeping Room and Hancock and Moore donated over $ 2,000 to Kathy's Walk. A good cause - worthwhile project. Photos of the walk here:
