    There are numerous posts in this section that go un-answered, most start with "Can you Identify this piece of furniture?"

    In 99 % of all instances, it's not possible. There are millions upon millions of pieces that have been made over the past couple hundred years, almost all of them factory, production items. They are going to be garage sale specials, of little or no value other than what you can get for a piece of used furniture on Craigslist. Save yourself the trouble of a post and uploading photos, and if you proceed it's likely you will not get a reply.

    About one in a thousand requests will actually have something worth seeing, because it was hand-made or of a collectible vintage. I doubt you have that Because if you did, in most cases you would know already what you have!
