Good afternoon. I have a lazy boy recliner. It reclines just fine but most of the time while reclining all of a sudden something releases and the chair partially goes down but not all the way. Any suggestions would really be appreciated

Your recliner mechanism is broken and needs replacement. Because La-Z-Boy is imported, they may not offer replacement parts the way the USA made product does. Good luck.

Hi, I have an Ashley Furniture rocker , recliner. The tag reads:
    7330461
    Serial # S405220176
    M.O. #M625620 W559

It does not stay back when I try to recline.
    Any suggestions?

In most cases you will need to replace the mechanism.

Hi Duane. I’m having the same problem with the Lewis Leather Recliner from West Elm. Any idea if it’s a simple fix?

I see four springs under the chair. Two towards the front footrest area and two in the back. I assume these are there simply to facilitate the reclining motion, and that I would need to detach one of the back springs to resolve the problem. Don’t have much experience here though and wanted to be sure.

Sorry, I don't know the mechanisms in that brand.

I just bought 2 Better Homes Gardens Adams Push Back recliners at Walmart.
I'm 5/10 250 lbs and it is a very comfortable chair.
The problem is it will not stay fully reclined.
If I move at all it slips back.
If I put my hands behind my head it will stay ????
Any ideas. Just want to chill fully reclined. Thanks

Spring tensions are off. Flip it upside-down and you will see two springs on the bottom, parallel to the metal recliner mechanism. On some recliners there is a wingnut and you can adjust tension fore and aft. Others do not have adjustments. If yours does not have adjusters, then remove one of the springs and try it without it. Good luck.

I know this post is several years old, but wanted to say "THANK YOU!" for the spring removal advice. My unknown-name recliner will now stay reclined without a fight.
