If I do sofa and 2 chairs, I can get version of #2 or #4, with flexibility to switch between the 2?

I would think so. Ultimately it comes down to how much blockage of that entrance between the bookcases you can tolerate.

I'm back! After moving furniture around to assessing layouts, we've decided to pursue a matching pair of couches. Once those are in place, Duane suggested we look for a bench for under the window -- what a great idea!

Since both couches float, can you help us pick a model, and maybe a bench? From the edge of the floating 1960's hearth, the room width is 180" (15' -- I had to do that without a calculator!!).

We are considering this one, but I wonder if it has enough pizazz? Is the piazza leather OK? Is it comfortable? Arms are a little low -- 3" from seat.

The Claudette series is very good, sits well, stylish - not too large. Also its in Town and Country so promotional pricing can be had if you like the leather offered and Piazza is decent - colors are Camel and Mocha.

You have a long window, would a 6' bench be too much in length under it? I was looking at this one:

I just added/posted a 5' bench for proportions. That's a great looking bench, and a good height as window trim starts at 21". I also double-checked and corrected and posted room dimensions in my digital layout, tho the couches in the layout are 86" instead of 80".

I think you have it. Not sure you will need, or want, the little chair off to the one side, it's an orphan that no one will ever use most likely.. I'd get everything else in there first, then decide if you needed that piece.

I like the opposing sofas or a loveseat and sofa, so that they could be moved to look out the window if you like. I cannot tell what's out there, but looks like it could be a nice view and nice place to rest your eyes during a conversation. They could be moved in the other direction to semi-face the fireplace if you have one in winter.

Thanks for your thoughts, Olivia! :-) I am definitely going with two sofas and a bench under the window -- it will frame both focal points properly. Now we are mulling which leathers to go with so there are no future regrets.

Anyone care to weigh in on our two sofa finalists, bearing in mind that we will be buying two matching sofas? The dimensions are similar. We were WOW'd by the tufted pieces in Duane's shop. Leaning toward a carmel-to-mid-brown burnished or pull-up leather, tho that red is sure pretty!

Monaco: Duane swears by its comfort (which I believe!!), and I really like the style when I look past the '"rustic" look of the leather in the Monaco image to the closeup Tulip in hiking boot
