Default Recliner Repair in San Antonio, Texas

The recliner mechanism on my Bradington Young sofa is broken. I have the replacement part and what I need now is someone who knows how to install it.

Any ideas about recliner repair folk in central Texas? The store I bought it from wants to take it back to their store and wants $125 each way, plus repair costs. I imagine anyone who can repair recliners can do it but I need a good referral for some. Thanks.

Contact your nearest local upholstery shop. This is a relatively simple bolt out / bolt in procedure and any furniture shop can do it

Thanks, Duane. I thought they had to know something about recliners. Appreciate it.

Well, that was easier than I expected. The place I got the sofa charged me only shipping for the recliner mechanism left-facing frame. The upholsterer I found came out and looked at it and told us we didn't need the replacement parts at all. Apparently the reclining handle had moved slightly away from the now-rounded nut that it had to catch and it would slip off. He bent the mechanism back in line, told me I didn't even need the nut replaced, and didn't charge me anything.

He did advise I keep the frame parts for later, just in case.

We did give him an old family spring rocker to re-cover after he told us there was no charge. Fair's fair.

Nice! Good that it worked out that way, and you found an honest repair person.
