Normally I would put this thread into the High Point Furniture Market news, however this is a major category creation and deserves its own thread - also it can be located much easier for future reference with a separate thread.

In 1997 Steve Jobs told Business Week magazine: “A lot of times, people don't know what they want until you show it to them.” And this is exactly what this new Your Way Motion Mechanism is for those of you that enjoy reclining upholstery pieces. You didn't know you needed this - trust me - YOU DO. This is like nothing else you have ever seen, in conjunction with Leggett and Platt (mechanism makers) this is the first-to-market of this new kind of motion mechanism that works differently from every recliner you have seen before. This is not proprietary, other makers will most likely begin using these down the road, however H&M is first out of the gate with it. And its amazing!

In a traditional power recliner - the one everyone makes - you have a single button that when activated by the user lifts the footrest up while tilting the back. One button, one movement. With this new mechanism you have four buttons plus a "home" button in the middle that allows you to not only bring up the footrest and the tilt on the back function, but also lets you activate a separate headrest motor to tilt your head more upright when recliner. Think of it as a fine motor control to get you perfectly positioned. The home button in the middle takes everything up and back to the "Park" position when done so you are fussing on all the buttons to close it all up - just the one. Also note the USB port to charge your phone, laptop, etc at the bottom of the switch.



What this translates to is - for most people - the most comfortable recliner you will ever sit in. A powerful statement, but I've never sat in anything better. Not even close. I took a few photos of one in various positions, note the head pillow:

Any leather, any combination of options. Note this series was just introduced two weeks ago, it won't make dealer showrooms until probably January 2018, however you can order now if you like. These are not inexpensive. I can't quote prices due to the H&M internet pricing policy however think around the $ 3K area for a chair recliner and that can go past $ 4K if you select a high end leather. I do have a floor model ordered, and am anxious for it to arrive. They did a number of configurations of it, more photos in follow up posts and the sofas as well.
