This is what a REAL Italian pull-up leather looks like when its new out-of-the-box. The wax infusion will respond to pressure and use by color-bursting (and the un-educated will say "it scratches"), resulting in a leather that breaks in over a period of several years and builds patina with use and age. This particular sofa was fitted with removable legs front and rear ($ 320 custom charge) as the customer had concerns it might not go into her townhome and we don't guarantee fitment into the home. Turns out we did not even have to remove them at all - but better safe than sorry. H&M did a beautiful job on the front's especially - you cannot tell they are removable.
