When its too far gone and all used up

Things wear out. They are designed to be used by people and have a finite life span. Frequently I get asked to assist in getting parts or otherwise fixing up a piece that is often used up and not viable to repair. Here's a few photos of a piece that show a recliner that endured heavy use, sun exposure, and probably no maintenance of the hide (cleaning/conditioning). This recliner is quite old, a Bradington Young. The seat deck label I was sent a photo of was used before I became a B-Y dealer (1985) so this unit has to be over 32-years-old. There is no where to start on a piece like this, a full re-leather and new seat and back cores would cost more than a new recliner. So, if and when you get to this point, consider you got your money's worth out of it and go for a replacement, not a restoration.
