A while back I had bought a shelving unit at a local thrift store. The unit appears to be crafted out of bent plywood with bent shelves and a rounded exterior. I have been looking around all over the internet trying to find any information on who would have made the shelf and have found nothing. I have found similar items but they either have rounded shelves and rectangular outside or the inside is straight and the outside is rounded. I have never found it where there is both a rounded exterior and interior. I have done some research and found that Alvar Aalto was one of the first artists to make bent plywood furniture. There are also hanging brackets on the back which I do not think are supposed to be there. I also looked and there are no visible markings of an artist. If anybody has information on a possible artist that would be great thank you for your help. Click image for larger version.
