From craigslist, but a few hours away. Any idea as to what type of leather this from pics?

Well, I took a chance and own it now. I won't receive it until after the 1st. Hopefully I didn't mess up.

Does H&M note anywhere on their furniture what the actual leather is? Does it look like it could be this Capri Plateau?

That's a finished leather, probably Document series. If it was built in the last ten years, then there will be a deck label under the seat cushions with a unique serial number on it. By having H&M Decode that number, you can get the exact build specs and date of production, along with the selling dealer who originally placed the order.

Thanks for your time today. Is this where the serial number would be?

That's a really old tag - before they began using registration numbers. That label dates back to the 80's / 90's so there is no way to track the build.

Ok, thanks. I can't think of a reason not to try to cancel this.

Did leathers happen to be any different in the 80's/90's, for better or worse?

Cows were the same in the last century as they are in this one!

Ha ha, wondered about maybe countries, tanneries, processing, quality of hides used, etc., but yeah, makes sense.
