We have a Martini sofa on order from T&C program in the Cameo burnished leather. I'm looking at the Nordic chair and thinking it would complement/not clash with that style and leather.... am I right? Thanks so much!

Yes, I think the Nordic can co-exist with the Martini unit very well.

A quick note to anyone looking at the Just in Time items or Town and Country with Hancock and Moore. Some of the price increases are significant, and today and tomorrow are the last days to order at the current prices. For example in JIT the Utopia Tufted Sofa is increasing + $ 388 for mail order / internet customers - I just happened to price this out for someone this morning. When I get back in the store on Tuesday the 9th, it will be too late to take advantage of the current pricing (there are always one or two stragglers that ask).

Now I know the typical consumer response is "They are getting greedy now" when prices go up like this, but the truth is - and I said this from the beginning when they first rolled out the Just in Time promo - the prices were too good to be true for Hancock and Moore quality. I was stunned when I first saw this promo back in March 2017 and was pretty sure that price structure could not be maintained for long. This increase going into effect on Jan 8th is more in line with what I would expect, and even then its still a great deal.

Think about it or not, but no whining when the prices change next week! <laughing>

The H&M Simone sofa is not in either promotional program so its not affected.

Viking is not graded as its married cover only (no loose hides). It would be no higher than a GR 1 if it were graded, however.

    Hi Duane
I came across one of your earlier posts where you said Viking is a class II leather. Does it mean that the new Viking leathers are kind of downgraded?

Viking was (and is) listed as a GR 2, but the reason its done like that is if someone wants to use that hide in a non-married cover. They have to order loose hides form China as a special and it takes FOREVER to get them in, so the GR 2 designator is for the cost of all the special ordering. The reality of it is that Viking is a top grain leather that is not as nice as most the main-line GR 1 covers that H&M offers. It's not a poor quality hide, however you are certainly not going to be knocked out by it and say "Wow, look at that - its gorgeous". I would classify it as a pleasing utility leather that serves a price point. Its far better than the bonded / bi-cast / splits that so many other companies are pushing at you - the consumer - in an effort to get the lowest possible price, but it will never be mistaken for a fine hide.

Buy Viking as a promotional hide when you want the best possible price in a given frame that its offered in. If you want something more custom, or luxurious, spend the money and get a nicer leather. NEVER - EVER pay a GR 2 price for a Viking to go on a non-promotional piece, you won't get your money's worth out of it.
