Hi Duane, This is my first time posting but I have been shopping for a Hancock and Moore sofa for about a year. This forum offer a wealth of information! I am very attracted to the McNary Sofa with it's tight back and curved top. I had the opportunity to sit in the McNary chair and found it so very comfortable. With that being said, I now need to choose the leather. I really like a more taupe-brown colors and am interested in the Coast or Champion leathers as they have "shades" that would look good in my home. I really can't find much info about them on the forum. Do you have any information on either of these two leathers?
Both Coast and Champion are GRADE 2 leathers and are Finished hides. I personally like the Champion - if I didn't tell you it was a finished leather, you would say it was a pure aniline. That's quite an accomplishment from that tannery to be able to produce a hide that looks like it does and is still a finished hide in my opinion. Remember H&M has a 5% off sale period through most its dealers now through March 9th, good time to order that sofa.

I really like Champion Bark. The color is good. Are there any other leathers recommendations in that similar color that I should consider?
Sure, you can check out all the color on the Hancock and Moore website.

What can you tell me about the Spirit hides? I like the spirit truffle.
"Spririt" are GR 2 finished hides that look pretty much like any other GR 2 finished hide. Unremarkable, but solid top grains.

Duane, You often talk about "customization" in the forum. Do you happen to know what the standard stitch is on the back of the McNary sofa? Have you seen it in any other stitch? Have you ever seen it done without the buttons? You've mentioned in the past that the Hancock and Moore website doesn't show all the options that are available. What are your thoughts?
Standard stitching will usually what they call a Simple Stitch, though I would have to make an inquiry if you wanted an absolute on that.
If you removed the back button tufts you would just have a panels and likely it would incur an up-charge because the back pattern would have to be re-cut. I wouldn't do it - why pay more for less? It would be like getting power outside mirrors on your new car and saying "no thanks, I want manual ones that I have to reach out to adjust and I'm willing to pay more for them". Don't do it!
