Hello Duane,
I would like to know the difference between the following options taking the Monaco as an example
7160-PR Monaco Power Recliner
7160-PRB Monaco Power Recliner w/ battery
I understand that the power recliners allow you to stop at any position and are less prone to wear and tear because of the a smoother action in changing positions. However what does is the difference between
Power Recliner w/ battery and without ?
What type of battery is this ?
What is the avg life of battery ?
No exploding batteries right ?
Is one option more maintenance than other?
What is the cost difference between the 2 options ?
Does the battery option still let you use a wired outlet if battery is down ?
Thank you.
Power recliners are plugged into the wall socket (highly suggest you install a surge protector)
Battery recliners use a lithium battery and the power pack lays under the recliner. Like any lithium battery, they should last 4 years or so before needing a replacement unit which costs around $ 150. Each charge is good for appx 250 cycles. Battery option is generally $ 150 to $ 175 over the plug in option, depending on the dealer.
I think you can plug in if battery is exhausted, I don't have one to test at the moment.
