Re: Caress leather
China has no cattle industry, and the USA has no tanneries to speak up other than a few boutique ones (such as Horween's in Chicago). We have plenty of cattle though. So the hides from the slaughterhouses and soaked in brine and then shipped to China for processing and they come back to America as leather tanned in China, and currently subject to a 3% Federal Trade Tariff. My experience with leathers from China is they are extremely consistent (like an IPhone which is made in China), and they are not problematic. They are - if anything - a little uninspired as are most finished leather, but its a good product. The best leathers are from Europe, but you have to be willing to pay the price for them and they are considerably more costly.
Caress is from China. Most the employees that work at Hancock and Moore buy their own personal furniture in that series leather - including Jimmy Moore himself.
