Hey friends,
I wanted to get your feedback on a potential layout for the living room of the new house we're building.
I've attached a few photos. The first photo shows our room dimensions (21',.5" x 19',2.5"), along with a potential layout I created.
The other three photos are photos from our builder's website. This isn't our actual house, but the overall layout will be the same (20' ceilings, fireplace, living room flowing into the kitchen in an open concept design).
And when it comes to furniture, here are the things I'm trying to factor in:
- Having a good chair (for me) that faces the TV.
- Right now we're thinking having a sectional. When my wife and I watch movies, we just want to make sure we have an area where we can lay, and be laying facing the TV (instead of laying parallel)
- Another chair would be ideal. Doesn't need to be facing the TV, more of a reading chair
- We don't want to block the flow from the entry way, through the living room, and into the kitchen. So we don't want to have high-back furniture on the left side of the room (the side away from the windows)
- On the side away from the windows (left side) there's also a 4' hallway. Something to keep in mind during layout and design
So a few questions:
- What do you think of the overall layout? From here, I can figure out the dimensions of each piece
- Sectional, or sofas?
- Any recommendations on other configurations?
Thanks!
Best,
Brody
