I think my wife and I have become convinced of the merits of the full and semi aniline leathers and for now are not considering any of the painted varieties. We are looking for something in the tan family, but I am still seeing ~10 or so options out there across a range of grades. My research on this site on BY leathers hasn’t turned many strong feelings. Would welcome any comment on this color segment.

A key issue for us is how the leather will wear as subjected to small dog traffic. Does that usage issue favor full or semi aniline? I like the idea of being able to condition out some of that wear should one of them decide to get a little carried away “making their bed”. In exchange for greater liquid repelling quality, do the semi-aniline pieces lose any of their ability to bounce back from other wear?

I did notice there seems to be two married covers available (for the Hanley sectional) and I am curious if that is considered a great value or a mistake for a three piece sectional item. Concern being great variance between each piece. Those leathers are 985700-87 Cognac (full) and 983700-84 (semi) Mushroom.
