Default ? On FlexSteel pigmented leather

Purchased a leather recliner from FlexSteel, it’s semi annilin ? spelling
I love the chair it’s a lite brown color
I’ve had it a little over a yr, the area where my head rests is losing the color.
I’ve made contact with the dealer and the factory
They agree to replace the chair and recommend a pigmented leather this time.
    Opinions ??

That's very common, frankly I'm surprised they are replacing the chair. Semi-Aniline DOES have a pigmented topcoat, so likely you will experience the same issue again no matter what leather you use. That's just the chemicals coming out of your body that is causing that. The cure it to wipe down the leather once a week with a damp rag, especially on the headrest. Every three months do a full leather cleaner/conditioner protocol and if you do that you will probably not have a recurrence with any leather.

Sooo... can you recommend a good conditioner ?
And will the actual pigmented leather be somewhat better ?

You may see a slightly better result with a fully finished leather, but again, maintenance is the real key.

    Yes it is,

And yes, you will have that issue with any leather, it's in your body chemicals, not a fault of the leather. But again, this is easy to take care of, just wipe that headrest down with a damp cloth once every week or two....takes five seconds.

I wonder if I can talk them into replacing it with another semi annilin instead of a pigmented ?
I don’t want to look a gift horse In the mouth but wonder if the semi would be nicer than the pigmented ?? Feel wise and looks wise ?
    Any opinion ?
I have no problem wiping it down and conditioning it

There is not a major difference between a finished leather and semi-aniline in my opinion. Both are leathers that have been processed and pigmented vs the quantum leap to pure anilines which will definitely be more sensitive to that issue. Again, I'm very surprised they will do anything at all for you on that, most companies would say it was user-caused and would not remedy it for you. Good luck.

Ok received my new replacement recliner today....I will as advised wipe down once a week. They gave me two containers of product. Guardsman Clean and Renew and Guardsman Protect and Preserve for leather.
Is his an acceptable product to use every three months as suggested above ??
    Thank you
