I don't know brands per se, you have to look at the construction. The stress items in a home where you don't want to economize too much are:
Master Bed
Kitchen Counter Stools
Kitchen Chairs around table
Main use (family room) sofa and or recliner
Those are the pieces that are used every single day, and have weight put on them. Poor construction and materials mean failure with use. For a bed, I would want solid hardwood (not pine) and proper attachment methods for the rails and posts. The best beds are eight-way bolt up with no glue joints on the headboard or footboards. Those are beds that will never loosen or rattle or wiggle. Avoid the ones where the rails "Drop in" to a pair of pins and the headboard and footboard are glued into the posts. Those will loosen and shake around with age. Good luck.
