I can't fit my H&M recliner down the basement stairs without removing the back. Is this something I can do or do I need a pro?

I have never taken one off, I'm sure there is a way. I have that model in my showroom and reclined it fully, removed the seat cushion and poked around where I thought there may be a release, but its upholstered there very tightly and I didn't want to rip anything trying to find it so didn't pursue it.

Call Hancock and Moore next week and ask to speak to Mark at the Motion Plant 828-495-8235. He can tell you if there is an easy way.
