    Question Used H & M Austin sofa - Good Deal?

    I have found a used Hancock & Moore Austin Sofa at a local consignment store. Not sure of the age or any other details about it. I only know that it had been in storage. It looks to be in great shape. Is there any way to tell form the under cushion tag what kind/class of leather it is? The color looks like Auburn Bordeaux or Aspen bordeaux (very shiney). The asking price is $1,500. Do you think it's a good deal? Thanks for any help!

    HI,

    Sorry, but I can't figure out how to insert pictures. I did manage to download them to my member profile.

    Its easy, when you make a post - look under the text box and click on GO ADVANCED. A new window entitled "Additional Options" opens up below and click on MANAGE ATTACHMENTS. Then a pop-up window appears that lets you download them from your computer and attach to your message.

    Sorry, your photos attached to your member profile page are too small and foggy to see anything.

    Thanks for the information Duane. The pictures were off my phone. Could you give me a price on e new Austin sofa in the Aspen bordeaux just for comparison? Also, if it comes in a loveseat what are the outside measurements. I would need something less than 64" that would recline. Would a loveseat in fabric or different leather look good with the used sofa? I imagine that you can't match the leather.

    Thanks Anita

    Hi Anita,

    I'm a bit confused! There are several Austin models, standard back, high back, incliner series, full recliner series, etc., Most all have a loveseat version as well. Can you please navigate to this page and pick out the ones you would like a quote on by model number? Key in AUSTIN in the search box at the top right.

    An Austin 9034-20, which is a full dual-recliner loveseat that measures 62" in width is priced at:

    class 1 leather: $ 3,262
    class 2 leather: $ 3,815

    A leather match can be difficult but not impossible. There is a 'flag' under the seat cushion and if that is cut off and sent to me, I forward it to H&M where the leather can be identified and they can see what they can match up.

    Hi again,

    The sofa would be 8134NB with the matching loveseat. It would be nice to have the recline in the loveseat but than it would have a higher back. Is that correct?

    # 8134NB is priced at:

    class 1: $ 2,877
    class 2: $ 3,360

    OR $ 2,239 in the Town and Country Married Cover Program leathers.

    Yes, the motion version of the Austin Loveseat is 2" higher than the standard Austin sofa.
