Default Is this 18 year old B-Y recliner worth $200?

I haven't seen this in person yet, but assuming it looks good in person, should I be at all worried about the remaining lifespan of this 18-year old Bradington Young recliner (esp. the mechanism)? Anything in particular I should pay attention to when checking it out?

If it is comfortable to you, sure. Where else are you going to get a comfortable chair for $200? You can see in the pics there is already some wear / finish flaking off. You can repaint those little sections if you want. Look for major cracking in the cushions, tops of arms, foot rest. If there are large sections of cracks then it probably won't last that long. Try to look at it in sunlight to see it best, not at night time. Make sure the reclining works smoothly and stays back ok without a lot of pressure.

If it lasts a year or two for you, are you going to feel you got your money's worth? If so, go ahead.

Thanks Danw. You're right, I was mostly concerned about the lifespan of the mechanism, but am also new to shopping for "good" used furniture. As it so happens, I should have acted faster, as that piece sold already! Still appreciate your advice.
