Special care and treatment for white leather
Duane,
We just finished making our first leather sectional. It was made from a white protected top grain leather and our (very particular) customer loves it. But I am starting to hear from several sources that white leather can be a big problem. For example one story was that the dye from someone's blue jeans came off on a white leather sofa and could never be removed. I am also told that white leather becomes soiled easily and is difficult to clean and that it can even get soiled just from sweat.
Is there a special approved manner in which to clean and preserve white leather. This is not "off-white". It is "white."

Re: Special care and treatment for white leather
Jeff,
Excellent! I'm glad to hear you got into doing some in leather as we talked when you stopped by the store. I think that will really open up avenues for you - did you find it any more difficult to sew and upholster?
Pure White Leather is never a problem as long as the customer is naked when using it and takes nothing more to the sofa than a glass of water. ;)
Call Leather-Magic and talk to their Tech Dept. They're pretty up-to-speed on this stuff and can probably recommend a barrier product to put on the sofa BEFORE it gets soiled. Defense is the best protocol on white leather, rather than trying to clean if after the damage is done. Did you use a finished or aniline hide?
