Picturess of mostly burnished leathers
Re: Picturess of mostly burnished leathers
anaye, what a fantastic resource you have provided - thank you. It really helps me out since I've taken a keen interest in the burnished leathers. The one link that interests me from what you have given above is the Sahara Mocha Burnished. Perhaps Duane can give a little more info on the Sahara leather, I can't seem to find it on the H&M website or on Duane's leather description pages.
Re: Picturess of mostly burnished leathers
Sahara is come and gone.... some leathers don't stay in the lineup very long. Great post! That took some time to hook up all those links. Strong Work.
Re: Picturess of mostly burnished leathers
Noted in one of the 'Burnished' leather collage of photos, the pair of Yosemite side chairs in French Luggage ... was that from your store floor or elsewhere?
Re: Picturess of mostly burnished leathers
Not from my store as I never buy pairs of anything.
Re: Picturess of mostly burnished leathers
Between the Cameo, Buckingham, and Weston, are there differences in durability, softness, texture, sheen and squeakiness?
Re: Picturess of mostly burnished leathers
Pretty much all burnished hides will have the same texture and hand, and sheen.
Re: Picturess of mostly burnished leathers
I thought I had read somewhere on here that Cameo was a softer leather.
Re: Picturess of mostly burnished leathers
Cameo is a burnished leather, and because of the glaze/toner/sealer topcoat, no Burnished leather is considered 'soft' when put up against true luxury soft hides such as Capri, Quintessence or Ricardo.
Re: Picturess of mostly burnished leathers
Sorry with my million questions, I do search and search on the forum for answers before I ask so hopefully I'm not making you feel like a broken record.
Can leathers with pebbling be burnished? If so, have you ever seen it done and how did it look?
Since burnishing is done by hand, can a special request be made to make the piece have a extra matte finish?
And I'm curious, what creates the sheen in a burnished piece or other unprotected leathers, is it the Teflon coating? wax?
