Choice of Shipping Questions
You had mentioned previously that you have used Plycon Van Lines for shipping H&M purchases in original packing. Also the H&M Guaranteed Freight program.
The H&M program requires a drop-off at a facility that can receive and reship to the customers house with an additional charge if there is no loading dock at the receiving facility. So its H&M Cost plus reship charge.
If Plycon Van Lines is used who arranges for the shipment, You or the buyer? Does the service include unpacking and set-up?
Is the only advantage to H&M shipping speed of delivery? I assume Plycon Van Lines will add additional time.
Assuming a the same ship to zip code. How would the two shipping options compare in price and time?
Re: Choice of Shipping Questions
Plycon is competent, but very slow.
H&M Guaranteed shipping is quick and fast and damage free. It just has to be a commercial location where an 18-wheeler can roll in and drop it off, they are not going to wrestle it inside. It can be a parking lot or a loading dock as long as you can handle it from there and they can get a big truck in there rain or shine. Loading docks are better because what if it is storming when they arrive?
I set up all shipping unless you use your own service and contract it yourself.
Plycon is blanket wrap and inside installation (residential).
I would have to get quotes for a given load and time, but as a ballpark lets stay for rough comparison a sofa to the midwest:
West Express / A&O : $ 275 (2.5 to 3 weeks)
Plycon: $ 575 (4 weeks)
H&M Guaranteed: $ 375 (4 days)
That gives you an idea of the price spreads and time.

Really? Was under the impression that Plycon keeps furniture in the original boxes.
Why pay the premium then over WE/A&O, if both ship furniture blanket wrapped.
Re: Choice of Shipping Questions
Plycon does keep it in the original boxes by request. They also offer blanket wrap service.
