Re: Picturess of mostly burnished leathers
I've seen a number of other leathers burnished and most didn't look so hot. Burnishing is really just applying a glazing/toning agent to the leather and you have to have a fairly matte leather to start with so the toner has something to grab onto. It won't work on finished hides that have a topcoat. You can simulate that yourself by taking a sample and applying something like and artist's oil-based Burnt Umber color to the leather. Once you have it toned, you have to seal it or it will rub off, and the sealers they use are not matte finished. Nor can they be (from what they've told me).
Re: Picturess of mostly burnished leathers
Can you ask H&M if it is possible to request that they rub out the top sealer to create as low of level of sheen as possible?
Re: Picturess of mostly burnished leathers
Not going to happen, sorry....its been presented before.
Re: Picturess of mostly burnished leathers
Would you say Gaucho and Cameo have about the same look and feel?
