Request for pics of H&M Editor Office Chair
H&M's Editor office chair has been beckoning me with its siren song ever since I first laid eyes on it. However, the only photo I can find is the one 'official' catalog image. I find user photos give a much better sense of how a product looks/feels "in real life." Would anyone have this chair to post, or at least know where to unearth some pictures of it? (I already searched the whole H&M photo sub-forum here). I want to pull the trigger on this purchase, but can't imagine spending that kind of money based off a single photograph.

Thanks!
Re: Request for pics of H&M Editor Office Chair
I have sold the Editor's Chair a couple of times. It's OK, but in that 'style' of office chair this one is the hands down champ.

Several years ago we took a group of both Patriot and Editor's chairs to a law firm on K Street downtown DC. They ordered (4) of each, not knowing which would be the best. Turns out the senior execs all laid claim to the Patriot units, the Editor chairs all wound up at the desks of these that worked for the senior staffers.

Here's a picture I found doing a quick search of the Internet. Obviously an attractive chair and this image does it more justice.

I'm sure you've already exhausted this, but I'd peruse all the Google Images results...since anywhere it's mentioned online with an accompanying photo should show up.
You could also try Chairish, Vinyet, or eBay to see if a used one is listed. The former sites sell only lightly used, still in good condition & appearance furniture..the later, is well: just eBay! Lol
At least there you can see what it'll look like photographed in a non-professional setting(regular ppl, taking regular pics,) with the added benefit of seeing what it'll look like after several years of use.
Welcome to the forum :)
Re: Request for pics of H&M Editor Office Chair
I agree with Duane that the Patriot is more beautiful with the carved wood and all...myself I think I would go for the editors chair too. I would think the arms of the Patriot would start to irritate me if I sat in it all day just from looking at it. I know the plastic ones on my Office Depot chair do. Would be nice to have heavy padded arms. The Patriot does look like the bosses chair though!

Lol well, I'd have to disagree with you both. Neither looks like a chair that'd fit in perfectly anywhere but in a big, corner office or at a conference table...ooh, & they look like the chairs judges' use :)
I prefer a style a bit more(to borrow a phrase from sstarrx2): "smaller footprint," & more streamlined. Like, the Eames Management Chair. Now here's an office/desk chair I could get excited about!
Re: Request for pics of H&M Editor Office Chair
Here's the office chair I buy, year after year. I have one at the store at my desk and likewise at home. It's not much to look at, but its the most comfortable one I have ever found and most usable to really work in. Its about time to replace my office one again (I order a fresh one every 7 to 8 years) and donate my old one to the Habitat for Housing group in my complex.

On the Patriot vs Editor, the Patriot I think wins in the comfort department easily.....
Re: Request for pics of H&M Editor Office Chair
Thanks for all the info everyone. The Patriot originally seemed a little too ornate for my taste (not that the Editor is exactly 'understated'), but comfort IS a bit factor, so I may have to reconsider.
Re: Request for pics of H&M Editor Office Chair
I bought myself a new H&M Office Chair at Market. A new design (it's not my style actually) but it sits divine...will post up a photo later on.
Re: Request for pics of H&M Editor Office Chair
How great it is to have found people equally as interested in chatting about office chairs as I am. Bring it on Duane!
Re: Request for pics of H&M Editor Office Chair
Can't wait to see your new office chair, Duane. My husband has for the longest time been making noise about finding a comfortable office chair. Maybe you've found the one!

Re: Request for pics of H&M Editor Office Chair
And here it is....I can't say I'm in love with the Euro Styling, but I came back to this chair three times in the showroom before deciding that its pretty much the most comfortable office chair I have ever come across. Do I really care that much about style in my office chair? I suppose not. As I was checking it out, the CEO of H&M, Jack Glasheen came by and asked me how I liked it. I told him I have to have one and he proceeded to tell me the history of it. He was visiting one of his larger dealers in Omaha and the owner had this old office chair from Sweden that was ancient, and he didn't want to give it up, but it was shot. So he asked Jack if H&M could re-build it for him (it was some famous Scandinavian designer who made it and I can't recall the name). So Jack said "I'll rebuild that for you but I want to make a copy of it and add it to our line". So the deal was done and this is the result.
Jack tasked one of his best craftsman named Lee Garrett to re-build the chair and make a new one from it, so that's why it's called the Garrett Chair. It's hand-laced (included in the price) and is not inexpensive. It will cost between $ 2K and $3K depending on the leather used - though pricing on it won't be out for a while. I ordered Pizza Ebony as you see in the photo, however I'm going to change it to one of the new leathers just introduced. Two things I don't skimp on in my furnishings 1) A good mattress and 2) A good office chair and that's because I spend at least 6 hours a day in each, so they both have to be the best they can be.
If you stop by the store after it gets here you can take it for a test drive and see if you agree.

Well I for one, think the styling is pretty sharp. It's understated, & while also having a "stand & take notice" aspect to it. I'd the base aluminum, or chrome?
Re: Request for pics of H&M Editor Office Chair
It looks both modern and comfy, a rare combo!
Re: Request for pics of H&M Editor Office Chair
I tell you what...if you are a man about my size (5' 11" and 240 lb) and should find this GARRETT chair tremendously comfortable.
There was also a new office chair for smaller stature folks that was very nice. I was very glad to see it, as there are few really nice offerings in smaller office chairs. I have photos of that as well.
Re: Request for pics of H&M Editor Office Chair
Hey Duane. Are you still pretty bullish on the Garrett? Is the still your reigning king of comfort?
Re: Request for pics of H&M Editor Office Chair
Well.....<hanging head>
The Garrett arrived and I put it at my desk in the back office. Perfect! Except that after about 3 hours I realized it wasn't allowing me to sit at the desk the way I want to. So rather than try to make it work for me, and in order to not put any wear on it, I decided to move it to the sales floor where its for sale today. Then I re-ordered my favorite chair which is incredibly unspectacular yet fits me like a glove:

My new chair arrived yesterday, but it was far too windy and too much ice in the parking lot to unpack it, so I've yet to pull it out of the box. When you find something you really like, you have to stick with it.

Duane, thanks for the update and sorry to hear. It wasn't allowing you to sit the way you want because the arms wouldn't go under your desk, or it just didn't sit as well as you hoped? I'm surprised nobody has taken it off your hands yet.
Re: Request for pics of H&M Editor Office Chair
All in the back support angles...
H&M Desk chair are not inexpensive. You have your basic $ 300 and under chairs from Office Depot and the like, then a big jump to premium chairs like H&M that are $ 1,400 and up. Not much in the middle. I think a lot of folks get sticker shock when they see the price of a good office chair. To me though, I spend more time in my office chair than any other piece of furniture either at home or at work - so that's the one piece that has to be right.

I couldn't agree more. My home office is equipped with Herman Miller Aeron chairs, which are quite comfy. If you're going to spend money on something, save it for the stuff you get a lot of use of. For me, that includes office chair, certain sofas, and a good mattress. Thanks for the info!
