I drove into work today (Monday) - not the best idea. The roads are in very poor condition, even the major ones like US HWY 1. There's a solid ice / snow pack down that the plows cannot get up and the chemicals have not melted it. I was surprised to see that - expecting the majors to be down to blacktop or at least slushy. Speeds are slow and no one can see the lane markers. So I am in the store today, but should have stayed home. Can't see how they will open schools anytime soon or even the Federal Government. We have too much traffic in this part of the world to put that kind of volume on snowy/ice roads. And no neighborhoods at all have been plowed.
More snow tomorrow. Weather report says another 5" or more. Wonderful. I'm calling my suppliers today to tell them to hold all orders shipping to my store for the next several days. No where to put the freight when it gets here, and no way to deliver it.
It's going to be a tough week.
