2019 (July) Hancock & Moore combined Town & Country program / Just in Time Promotion

This is the first major overhaul of Hancock and Moore's two promotional programs that run year-round for qualified dealers. Not every dealer does qualify for this promotion, it requires a considerable buy-in requirement. This revised program goes into effect Friday, July 26th, 2019.

The Basics:

What Town and Country / Just in Time is are standard Hancock and Moore's best-selling frames that they are going to offer a volume discount on, plain and simple. These are not overstock items, nor do they take any shortcuts in production, its built as mainline, 1st quality product in Hickory NC. Most the items will have a "program leather" that you will see in the inset photos, that's where your best price is going to be. Many of the hides are sourced, cut & sewn in China. Those are referred to as "Married Covers", because they are ordered in quantity in lots, then come to the North Carolina factory as "cover kits", all cut and sewn, ready to apply to the frame and foam that is made at the North Carolina factories. Because they are pre-cut and pre-sewn, you can't get a Cutting for Approval, and if you order a sofa and chair in married cover, there is a very slight chance the dye lots may be off a bit, I don't usually see evidence of that however I want to point that out for those whom that might be a concern for. China has no cattle industry, these "married covers" are actually USA hide crusts shipped to China tanning and processing, and assembled there as well.

I am not allowed to post pricing, however you can always request a few price quotes (no more that six) by completing the QUOTES request her in the forum or emailing to keepingroom@gmail.com. Every dealer sets their own prices and they are likely to vary.

"Just in Time" is a Quick Ship Program, and a subset of Town and Country. Normal production time is 6 week, and Just in Time items will complete in roughly half that time frame. COVID-19 has affected all production times -

On pieces that come in promotional leathers (inset photos) you can also select from any Handle 1 or Handle 2 leather at a different price point. It will still have an overall cost less than buying from the main book. These are the same leathers offered in the Your Way promotion, so you have one set of handles for all H&M promotions.

* You can get a contrast welt trim in leather at no additional charge unless it is a married cover (as they are pre-cut and pre-sewn)

* You can choose from any wood finish, standard finishes at no additional charge. The default finish is Mahogany Distress if you do not select one. Premium finished are allowed at an upcharge.

* You can choose your nail trim color if the piece is standard with nails. The default nail is "A" Hancock nail if you do not select one. You can add nails to a piece for (upcharge) if not included as standard.

* You can upgrade to Ultra Down Cushions in the program (seat and/or back) at an additional charge if you like. These are cushion cores that are more plush than the standard Poly-Dac Qualux Foam and Fiber Fill Backs.

* You can NOT customize frame dimensions in this program, or change out legs, etc.

* Loveseats are available on some of the items shown as sofas (but not all). When they are available in this program, they will be priced the same as the sofa.

* The photos scanned in represent the entire program. If it's not in the photos listed below, then it's not in the program.

* Any leather that is "burnished" in the description is a pure aniline hide from Italy and is not a married cover. These are normally GR 3 hides. Handles 1 and 2 will be less in price on these items.

This program is going to be totally revised and should be mailed out to the dealers in early April, with an effective date of 04/15/21.

Expect significant price increases in many items, and changes in what is offered. Especially the burnished leather pieces is my guess. The next few weeks will probably be the last time to get prices as good as they are now (not kidding!) though I am not privy to the new program, I am pretty good at reading the tea leaves of Hancock and Moore.

I am going to load up on Town and Country items and buy duplicates of the best sellers (as much as I can fit in my small warehouse) because I have seen what has happened to the regular line product with the last price increase and some of the increases made me catch my breath. The Monaco recliner I just brought in last week in Cameo Stone went up $ 1,000 (this was not a T&C item). That means over $ 5,000 on that recliner in my store and I'm thinking a lot of my customers won't pay that. It certainly gives pause.

There are GREAT deals in that Town and Country program right now - these prices have not changed much since 2019. I kid you not, grab them now and don't say I didn't give you a heads up on this after the fact. Prices and program changes will arrive on or before April 15th. Especially if you are looking at any of the Burnished items like the Author Chair (always popular) or Emilio sofa, etc. I expect them to either be eliminated from the program or have significant increases otherwise.

Forget about the "Just In Time" quick delivery aspect of this promotion - that's not even on the radar any more. Anything ordered in March is not going to complete until July or August right as a best guess. Possibly longer. It may sound ridiculous, but all suppliers are in the same boat, If you want something by Football season, order it in the next few weeks!
