Help Identifying Antique Furniture
Good Morning to all the members, I would like to get you opinion & expertise on this two pieces of furniture I have in my posession (date origin) etc pleasechelp
Re: need help with antique furniture
Those are Empire period pieces, the first one with the mirrors may be European, the second one looks USA. Nice, handcut dovetails on the drawer. Empire has never been highly collectible but markets do change from time to time. What you need to do is clean them up. Wipe them all down with mineral spirits, then buy some Briwax and apply in small areas with # 0000 steel wool. The before/after difference will amaze you. DO NOT work large areas with Briwax and remove it before its dry - you pay the devil getting it off once it is.

Re: need help with antique furniture
That's why I'm recommending Briwax instead of a full strip and finish. They have a lot of dust and dirt buildup that will come off with the Briwax.
