H&M Quintessence Ebony Project
My latest project. I used a dealer sample of Hancock and Moore Quintessence Ebony for a face panel covering on a concealed radar/laser detector setup for my car. Applied over a 1/8" plywood piece I custom-made for the control panel and indicator lamp. Took me a little while to figure out how to make the corners tight! If anyone ever needs small pieces of leather for a project, I can supply free of charge, there are always spare samples about....

That looks very nice!! I always appreciate someone who cares about the details.
Re: H&M Quintessence Ebony Project
I had the entire collection of H&M leathers in the front seat of my car matching up hides <g>. That was the factory sunglasses holder in that cubby before I made the panel. I had almost 30 hours into this install - took a long time and many nights in the garage to do it right. My wife walked out to the garage at one point and wanted to know "why I had half the car apart and spread across the garage!"
Did you get your new ride yet?
Re: H&M Quintessence Ebony Project
Thats funny. I can completely relate as my 17 year old son has a 1979 Trans Am in pieces all over our garage and a 1985 Corvette in the farm shop. Every day new parts arrive via UPS. Keeps him busy!
Yes, the new ride is awesome. I am very impressed thusfar. It feels more nimble than the BMW and it is f a s t ! We did switch off between the Cayenne and the X5 several times on our drive home and the X5 held up pretty well. I do like the way that I feel more 'inside' the Cayenne compared to feeling more perched on top of the X5. The Ipod interface also is the easiest I've used.

Nicely done Duane, very professional looking. All the edges are TIGHT, so time well spent I say.
And a class 4 hide?! Truly you are a leather snob. :D
