B-Y # 912 Series Power Reclining Sectional in GR 5 leather
I never intended to buy this piece for inventory, I thought I had ordered the sofa version for my store! The BY Sales Rep and I miscommunicated and this is what came in. With a lot of huffing and puffing and grunting I made space for and here it is. I also ordered it in the most costly leather they have - its quite nice - there's something about a butter-sofa aniline that makes it worth the extra money - this is yummy.
This is a fantastic sitting piece. The best Bradington Young has come out with in a very long time, in my opinion. That's why I liked the sofa so much at last fall's Market Showplace and ordered one. They nailed the design and comfort on this one. This sits as good as Hancock and Moore's Austin Series pieces, and that has always been the elusive goal for companies like B-Y to get to that level.
Best part is, the two recliner stations outboard only need to sit 2" away from the wall. 102" wall space on each side as I measure it.
Recommended. Power units on the ends for the recliners are a must have.

Duane, do you recall off-hand what leather is on this sectional?
Is it 9053-85 Grafton Square Monterey Desert Sand?

This is a beautiful piece! More affordable than the Sundance Sectional (I had been looking at Bradington Young b/c of their wedge corners and cuddler loveseats), but I sure do love the style of the Sundance. I'm not big on recliner sofas for my room b/c I think they would sit too high floating in the middle of the room. They would look good against a wall. Regardless, that leather is very pretty in the buttery-sense :) My question is, do people ever float reclining sectionals in a room that is not two-stories tall?

Sure! All the time - look in the Photo Resources in H&M and search for the Sundance Sectional in Kipling Cognac and you'll see one in a single story room.

Duane, can you tell me what the dimensions for this piece are? The left-hand side can be no more than 115" long, and it's not clear to me whether this one is 105" (which works!) or 124" (which doesn't). Thanks!

Has the dimensions in the thread:

The sofa segment will be appx 23" longer over the loveseat segment

Oh wow. That might just fit with the 102 measurement... Is there a leather grade you recommend for a family with pets/kids? This is going to be where we hang out all the time!

Nothing at all wrong with the Married Cover - its decent and keeps the price down.
Re: B-Y # 912 Series Power Reclining Sectional in GR 5 leather
In your experience, has there been any issues with the leather quality (fading, premature wear, etc.) of the Bradington-Young "married" covers? I understand that they are cut and sewn overseas, then matched to a U.S. built frame, to keep the costs down, but are they prone to the same quality issues that a lot of the other Chinese leathers are having?
