Fjords Spring Market 2022

One of our final stops at the Spring High Point Market was the Fjords showroom. As you know, we don't carry any lines that don't pass our high quality standards, so outside of the fact that Fjords creates a nicely upholstered product with top tier materials, here are the top three things you need to know about Fjords:

• Reasonable Price Points - Fjords has three lines of leather, with the highest grade being their semi-aniline Astro Line. Milan, their best selling motorized swing relaxer in their highest grade leather comes in well under $3,000.00

• Access to Quick Ship Items - quick ship programs ceased to exist in the COVID world, but Fjords has brought theirs back and can deliver on it. Certain frames and leathers are available in the quick ship program, and we have access to their inventory reports, so we can let you know exactly what you can have in your home the fastest

• Fjords Has Their Own Shipping Program - while the majority of our manufacturers do not coordinate delivery, Fjords runs a drop ship problem that delivers nationwide at very reasonable rates. Certain pieces may require White Glove Delivery, but Fjords handles the hassle of choosing a carrier and it's a flat rate that won't change with fluctuating gas prices or labor shortages

Fjords debuted three new leathers this spring - N/L Navy, S/L Cigar, and A/L Whiskey.

We got to sit on the Nordic Sofa for the first time, pictured here in A/L Vintage Cognac, their best selling leather. We really liked this Nordic Sofa! The Nordic line is Fjord's modular program and has certain modules in Vintage Cognac and two gray fabrics available as part of their quick ship program. This two-seater sofa would make a great piece for an apartment or town home, we considered buying one for the store, but aren't so sure that our customers are into the slightly mid-century modern style.

We love to see a cutaway! Aside from a visit to the factory, a cutaway is the only way you can truly see what's in your furniture. Pictured here is one of the "Classic Comfort" chairs (the ones you see paired with a footstool). You can see the no-sag suspension in the frame, as well as the active release mechanism on the headrest.

Fjords constructs its furniture with Cold-Cured Foam, which is molded specifically to the frames of its pieces, instead of inserting a foam cushion into a casing that is supported by the frames. You can see how the springs and frame go directly into the yellow foam portion of the chair. The cold curing process also creates fewer air pockets, which are what ultimately lead to foam breaking down. Cold cured foam should last up to 15 years. You can also see that the lumbar section of the chair has more foam, allowing for optimal lower back support.

We had yet to see a Fjords piece in S/L Ice, and loved the way it looked on the new "Anne" Chairs, which also debuted this spring.

Last but not least, the Dallas Swing Relaxer was also new at this Market. Fjords was our last official stop of Market and we had been on our feet since 8 am and trekked about 20 minutes across the town to get to the showroom, so man those Dallas chairs felt comfy! So comfy, in fact that we purchased two for floor stock in the leather shown - S/L Latte.
