Default What I do on my day off

What a small business owner does on his day off. Change the oil and wash one of the delivery trucks! No one likes to see a dirty truck pull up to their house with their new furniture…

LOL, someone has to do it. You learn as a small business owner that either YOU do it, or you have to pay someone. Takes me one hour to wash the truck, one hour to change the oil and air up the tires, check fluids etc. Total cost 2 hours of my time and 6 quarts Mobil 1 + a Motocraft filter = $ 49.00 on the Transit.

Last time I had my two delivery guys clean up the truck, they took four hours (x 2 @ $ 25 hour cost me $ 200 !) And an oil change at the Ford Dealer is $ 150 plus all the time to take it there, drop it off, pick it up again, etc. So I saved about $ 300 give or take....

Sunday (my other day off) I was at the store all day catching up. With my daughter Sarah gone (she did a lot of work at the store) I am again playing catch up all the time.

Is your daughter no longer working for you?

Correct, this was not what she wanted to do, she wants to be in the fitness industry. I'm back to a one-person store with no plans currently to hire anyone.
