Duane,
I know your knowledge about Windsor chairs is well covered in the Furniture Forum, which I've enjoyed reading. In the Architectural Digest, April 2010 issue, I came across the 'Windsor Chairmakers' as designer, Karen Blake's source for Windsor chairs at windsorchair.com in Maine. Are you familiar with Windsor Chairmakers chair quality, say, in comparison to Lawrence Crouse Workshop and J. L. Treharn & Co.?
Thank You,
Nancy
Hi Nancy,
For replica chairs, the designs are wrong. Stretchers set too high in the base, too much back leg sawed off, somewhat incorrect shapes. If you're going contemporary forms, then there is no right or wrong. Seem to be a tad pricey for what they are...just my opinion.
