Some of these new leathers may not make it out of the starting gate, depends on how well they sold at Market. While you can order these new hides now - don't expect to see samples at your local dealer until around the first of the year. The very first leather "Africa Reserve Burnished" is fantastic. What they did was take Weston Cane Burnished and buff it down to where its almost suede-like. This has a very unique look and feel and I ordered one of the new sofas styles in it. Unprotected and will show use as it ages. Photos taken on the tailgate of my pickup truck - not pro, but at least you can see them! All of these leathers will be shown on the new H&M pieces in the High Point Furniture Market News thread.

Here' a little tip....all these new leathers were shown on pieces at Market. Go to the Market & Trade News Section here on the forum, and browse the Hancock and Moore OCt 2010 Showroom, and they will all be there.

It was an 'experimental' leather done at Market do gauge dealer reaction. It didn't last very long, probably because it was very 'nude' and was almost suede-like. I ordered one piece in it, and it sold in 5 days once it was on my sales floor. Then the leather was gone - just like that!
I'll be going to Market this Sunday, we will see what is new in leathers, then.

Hancock and Moore, if you are listening please bring back matte burnished leathers like this. Sigh................ Must of been real nice if it got snatched up so quick. Okay so obviously buffing down a burnished leather to make it more matte is possible. How come I can't special order this technique on any of their burnished leathers? What gives? Some rap star can custom order their name in bling but I can't ask for a little custom buffing?
Keep me posted if you see anything at Market like this.
