Question for Duane and others.
I have set in a H&M Richmond chair (8102) at the local dealer. The rear of the seat cushion (where it meets the back) had a lot more give than the front, resulting in uneven "sinking" feeling. Is this normal? Is there anything can be done to change it, firmer cushions, maybe? Thanks
Perhaps that cushion core needs replacing, no telling how long that chair has been on the floor. its not normal for any chair to have a 'soft' spot and I'd start by replacing the core -going extra firm will only make it firmer!

While the subject of cushions is being discussed, our Austin tilt back seat is too firm for our liking. Would the down wrapped cushion make a better seat choice? Its a beautiful chair but makes our rear end go numb.
That's one I've not come across before! I'm a little confused though...its the back cushions that are too firm, or the seat cushion? One or both?

The back is fine, its the seat cushion that is too firm.
If you tried out the chair in a store, one of the first things I'd check is whether they ordered the chair with an extra firm cushion.
Ultra Down should do the trick if you want softer. $ 135 for a new Ultra Down seat core, plus UPS costs.
