    Question INcliner vs REcliner

What's the difference between an incliner and recliner? Is an incliner the same as a tilt-back?

An Incliner is a lounger that can go up tight to the wall, typically needing only 1" space from the wall. When the mechanism is activated, the footrest comes up and the back 'shifts' down and slightly rearward, but not on the level of a recliner. Basically an Incliner is a glamorized seat with a footrest.

A tilt back runs on a gas strut and pivots backwards from the rear seat edge. They need appx 18" to go all the way down and require an ottoman to be comfortable.

Comfort is a subjective thing. Every person has a different idea what might be the best.

An Incliner does not have a back that moves. There is a slight shift in the back as the footrest comes up.

A Recliner has a fully reclining back.

A Tilt back has a fully reclining back but the seat is stationary.

A Wall Hugger is a Recliner that has a mechanism that slips the chair forward as it reclines, and the back is fully reclining.
