While bumming around online I noticed several YouTube videos featuring Leathercraft products. I noticed their seat and back cushions are connected and have a cotton ticking on the back for breath-ability. Is there really an advantage to this?

All leather has to have a vent panel on the back of cushions or the air would not escape (fabric is porous, leather is not). It would be like sitting on a balloon otherwise. A common misconception is that the cushions have leather on both sides - no maker does that as the seams would eventually burst on the stitching.

Some of their pieces do have connected cushions - I'm not really sure why they do that!
