    Default Custom Double Pedestal Desk

I just delivered this beautiful custom pedestal desk that I designed this past Saturday to a customer along with a H&M Freeman Office Chair (shown). It was made in five pieces because of the weight and egress into an upstairs office. I told my delivery guys to get a lot of photos with the store digital camera. They got one. ONE!!! Argh! I really wanted one of the front side of the desk as well.

Made of lightly figured tiger maple solids, has a removable modesty panel so it can be used with or without it, two letter filing drawers on the front side with traditional drawer layout. Made in a 1-man shop by John Buchanan of Ohio, price was $ 5,900.

Any yes, that is a cord hole drilled right in the top as per customer request. That was definitely a case of measure three times and then drill once! What a great desk, now I want one for my home office....

Duane... Ah, the H&M Freeman chair in ebony. WOW!!! Great chair. One of my favorites as you know. I only wish Jimmy Moore would make it with larger dimensions. If he did I would own one today. But I can't complain the Leathercraft chair I purchased looks great behind my cherry double pedistal Stickley desk. Only problem with the desk is the movers must remove the base molding to get it through a 36" door. But it is designed for that and the base molding actually comes off as a single unit with about 10 screws being removed. Someday if I get enough ambition to clean off the papers on top I will send a picture.

Yes Larry, the tufted one, too! It was a good pick for that desk, and I really wish my delivery guys took a few more shots with the camera to show the desk details. I may have to drive up to Chevy Chase with my camera and get some more shots ......
