The one that got away. What was it worth?

Last month this chair was listed on Kijiji (eBay owned classifieds) for $160.



Hancock & Moore is almost never spotted in the wild here in Canada, and I immediately called the seller. I was too late, as another buyer was already en route. I told the seller that they could have easily gotten closer to $1000 and they said "serves me right for not doing my research".

To this day I'm baffled by someone who can post an ad on the internet, but can't search the internet to find the value of something before selling it.

Any idea what the chair was worth? The model, the leather, how old it was? It looked new.
