Default Remove swivel mechanism Bradington Young

I ordered a leather Bradington Young chair and cannot return it because it came from North Carolina and I live in Louisiana and this is my problem, it is way to high for me and the I don't like the swivel at all now that I have it. BY did send me a new cushion to see if that would help with the height of the seat but it really didn't. Too expensive so I have to keep it.
My husband has tied it off with tie wraps to hold it still for time being. Is there any correct way to remove the swivel only off this chair? I haven't been able to find out thru Bradington Young. #7012-SG - Bradington Young Mason Swivel Glider Recliner

    Thanks for any advice.

Sure, Debbie, the swivel mechanism is held on with four screws and then it will come right off. But it will be too low, you need legs of some kind. My suggestion is to get four sets blocks of scrap wood in various heights, say 1", 2" and 3". Try them on all four corners and see which you like the best. If it turns out to be say...1", then your selling dealer may be able to get some simple finished wedge legs for you. If they can't I can order them from Hancock and Moore (Bradington Young usually won't customize) at about $ 25 each and you can screw them on.

Oh no- the rocker IS the mechanism. I though the object was to lower the chair.

I just wanted to stop the swivel and lower chair if possible. My husband has stopped the swivel by tying it off so that will do for now. Thanks for your advice. Have a great day!
