Being new to leather I'm not sure I understand what is meant when posters talk about a leather having "a wonderful hand." Does the phrase mean something more than how soft and supple the leather feels?
Class 2 leathers can definitely have a good hand. I was lucky enough to buy Weston on a chair when it was a Class 2 leather, and it absolutey has a wonderful hand!
Those number 'classes' are actually price grades, not quality grades. In fact I had a discussion with the owner of H&M yesterday at Market about changing that terminology to 'price level' instead of 'class' or 'grade' as its now referred to.
