Leather Inventories
Here's a little know factoid....
Virtually all tanneries worldwide shut down in August for two to three weeks to do annual maintenance. This means a small hiccup in the pipeline on leather deliveries if something is ordered and not in stock. So expect slightly longer cover delays if you get an advisory that a hide is not at the maker's facility, and this can extend through the end of September. By mid-to-late October, things are usually back to normal in the supply chain.
